Hey y’all!
Rag HQ is chugging along and we’ve got a new issue for you this month. Highlights include Chuck’s thoughts on our FCC overlords, resident bard Grant Lindberg’s journey to a private equity talk hosted by ye old Liberal Arts Career Services, and a rundown of just three ways in which ICE is throwing Texas into chaos. We had the pleasure of working with several collaborators this month—Madeline Mitchell and Aubrey McCabe from Students for International Labor Solidarity are covering their recent wins against Nike and UT’s role in anti-sweatshop movements, and urban design student Tarran Mohan is throwing in his two cents about how thoughtful street planning can mitigate tragedies like the shooting at Buford’s.
We’re rounding that out with another addition into the Deuce comic canon, courtesy of Morgan Bart and the elusive C.W., and dream experts Killari O’Donnell and Ava Manchac flexing their Jungian chops. We’ll be distributing magazines thoughout campus this week (last I heard, we’ve got fifty in the First Light newspaper box atm, but they’re going quick)!
More info to come soon about a Rag fundraiser happening at the start of May for anyone looking to support our work. For now, you’ll have to settle for the Venmo (@tx_ragmag, lest you’ve forgotten).
Cheers!
